#Lyrics: 'Twas The Day After Christmas

'Twas the day after Christmas,
And piled high on the floor,
Were the remnants of stockings.
And presents. And more....
O' Christmas tree toppled
From its own sheer exhaust,
And not from a visit
From Claus or Jack Frost.
No presents stacked neatly,
They were tossed in a heap
It was junk no one wanted,
With little reason to keep.
There's some other stuff, too,
Like magnets and cards
And some stuff we dug up
From the office front yard.
And to give it some color,
We tossed on some lights,
But those haven't been working
Since that unholy night.
Now, we're not sure the reason
A spatula hangs from the green,
But we partied hard –
If you know what we mean.
And somewhere, we're sure,
If you dig deep enough,
Will be snow realized
As some cotton-ball stuff
So while you might think
That we wrote this poem Friday,
We're here to remind you:
Christmas isn't so tidy.
So call it an eyesore
Or a complete waste of time
We still have the brass tacks
And you're reading this rhyme.
What does that mean,
You ask with mind wary?
We might try harder next year,
And a good Christmas, Merry!
