Harden, who was hired in 1971, said he told the station about his retirement on his work anniversary earlier this year. Harden thanked his co-workers, especially former co-host Bonnie Lucas, who retired in March after working with Harden for 25 years. "Van and Bonnie in the Morning" aired weekdays from 4:59 to 9 a.m. Lucas joined Harden in the early 1990s following co-host Connie Murad leaving the "Van and Connie" morning show.
