Butcher

Butchery is the ancient trade of slaughtering animals. There is no meat in the tub save the three men, and I assume the butcher would not butcher himself. What about the other two? For any butchering to occur one has to assume the butcher brought his knife or cleaver along in the tub with him. Most images of this trio has the tub set adrift in a body of water, leading me to think butchering would take place in both an extremely small space and where little-to-no additional tools would be nearby. No known knife. No cutting board. No primal cut. The only thing this guy seems to have going in his favor is his knowledge of how to make a cut. Maybe when he was out of the tub he once had to attack something with his bare hands. He knows the kill points. Don't rock the tub, you other two. (C+)

Baker

The "esteemed" baker is more useless in this tub than the butcher. There are no grains, no mills. There is no heat source. If we presuppose the tub is rudderless and bound for nowhere in particular then we wonder if the baker brought along one of the signature tools of his trade. Most images of this trio has the tub set adrift in a body of water, meaning if the baker brought a peel then the trio may yet arrive at their destination if the peel is used as some sort of paddle. But if the butcher didn't bring a knife then the baker didn't bring a peel. I dare say this guy was never bred to survive in such conditions. (C-)

Candle Stick Maker

This chandler - the official title of the household position in ancient times responsible for wax and candles - seems the most truly useless of all. In this day and age who makes candles? What good is a candle in a tub, anyway? Most images of this trio has the tub set adrift in a body of water, and with all the spinning and swaying this make-shift boat is bound to get wet. Water would likely snuff out any candle flame long before the trio are at wick's end. Besides, how would they light their candles? And how would candles help? By day they're adrift in endless water, at night both sea and sky are identical darkness. Shinning a little light on the situation serves no one here. Let's make this interesting. Maybe our chandler knows about adipocere or shaping soaps and waxes from human corpses. If so he has two potential subjects readily available. (D+)
