Curios: The "Real" "Dexter Holland"

Something we found in our archives, c 2000, source unknown:

The Offspring has been hitting the net-waves, talking with people who claim to enjoy their music, and no one believes it is them. Perhaps it's the way they write, rather than how they sing. Maybe you can't hear that singer's nasally voice from the monitor.

"...I log on every day in our chat room as 'Dexter' and they just wouldn't believe us. And they ask questions that I don't even know...like 'What did you play as the seventh song at your show in Warsaw, Poland in 1993?' Geez, I'm sorry, guys. I don't know the answer to that. So they're like, 'See, I knew you weren't the real Dexter [Holland]."
