Everybody was so busy documenting the similar minutia, that nobody kept track of the differences, including:

- Kennedy a Democrat
- Both had different family upbringings
- Lincoln was from a poor Midwest family
- Kennedy from a rich Eastern family
- Their fathers had different roles in their political lives
- Lincoln's father took no role in his son's political ambitions
- Kennedy's father guided his son's political ambitions
- Each assassin had different upbringings, too
- Booth was well-known, from a prominent family
- Oswald was unknown, from a poor family
- Each was different in appearance
- Lincoln was gangly and homely
- Kennedy was athletic and handsome
- The presidents' mother died at different points in their lives
- Lincoln's birth mother died before him
- Kennedy's mother outlived him
- Their vice presidents had different upbringings, too
- Andrew Johnson was a tailor from Tennessee
- Lyndon Johnson was an oilman from Texas

- Lincoln did not participate in combat
